The volunteers who donate their time to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia play an important role in the experience of our patients and families.
They work alongside healthcare professionals, help in clinical and non-clinical areas, and support the Hospital's mission to care for not just the patient, but the entire family.
Volunteer at the Hospital
Volunteer Services at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia offers opportunities for all different types of volunteer work. Take a look at our volunteer categories to determine which option is right for you, and to learn about volunteer requirements. Through a regular volunteer placement, volunteers are required to provide service hours a minimum of once a week for a period of 3 hours.
Volunteers over the age of 18 who are not enrolled in college and who are able to make a significant time commitment may be a fit for the adult volunteer program. There are many different ways that our adult volunteers can compliment professional services in our patient care areas and provide support to our patients and families.
The College Volunteer Program is designed specifically for students looking for an opportunity to partner with healthcare professionals while supporting patients and families in a healthcare environment. Volunteer positions are available throughout the Hospital, each with the goal of improving the patient and family experience while at CHOP.
We offer a limited number of spots each summer for volunteers between the ages of 16 and 18 who are enrolled in high school who want to give of their time while gaining valuable hands-on experience and educational opportunities within a medical setting.
Are you and your dog currently certified by Pet Partners, Therapy Dogs International, Therapy Dogs Inc or Comfort Caring Canines? If so, you might be a fit for pet therapy volunteering.
