More No. 1 rankings than any other hospital in nation: CHOP leads U.S.News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospital list
Ranking No. 1 in six of 10 specialties, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has more No. 1 rankings than any other children’s hospital in the nation, according to U.S.News & World Report’s 2012-13 survey of Best Children’s Hospitals.
The Hospital also again tied for the No. 1 overall ranking on the U.S. News Honor Roll.
CHOP ranked first in the nation for cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, pulmonology and urology, and in the top four for every other pediatric specialty ranked by the U.S. News survey.
The U.S. News survey methodology combines clinical data points from 178 pediatric centers with a separate reputational score derived from a survey in which 1,500 pediatric specialists – 150 in each specialty – were asked to which hospital they would send the sickest children.
CHOP earned high marks for its dedication and expertise across multiple specialties, the quality of its treatment, survival rates, research and other factors. The hospital was also recognized for its strong reputation with specialists and excellent nurse-patient ratios. Learn more >>
CHOP Named No. 1 Pediatric Hospital in the U.S. by Parents magazine
Parents magazine has ranked The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia the best pediatric hospital in the United States, based on a comprehensive data-based survey.
In addition to the overall ranking, Parents magazine also ranked CHOP's emergency medicine, neonatology and pulmonology divisions No. 1 in the nation. The Cardiac Center, Cancer Center and orthopaedics division ranked second.
