Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities at CHOP

Volunteer Services at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia offers opportunities for all different types of volunteer work. Take a look at our volunteer categories to determine which option is right for you, and to learn about volunteer requirements.

Adult Volunteer

Volunteers over the age of 18 who are not enrolled in college and who are able to make a significant time commitment may be a fit for the adult volunteer program. There are many different ways that our adult volunteers can compliment professional services in our patient care areas and provide support to our patients and families.

College Student Volunteer

College student volunteers work at the Main Welcome Desk, Wood Welcome Desks, and Emergency Department, where they give a warm welcome to all patient families, evaluate limited visitation needs and guests with directions to get to where they're going.

High School Student Volunteer

We offer a limited number of spots each summer for volunteers between the ages of 16 and 18 who are enrolled in high school who want to give of their time while gaining valuable hands-on experience and educational opportunities within a medical setting.

Pet Therapy Volunteer

Are you and your dog currently certified by Pet Partners, Therapy Dogs International, Therapy Dogs Inc or Comfort Caring Canines? If so, you might be a fit for pet therapy volunteering.

One-Time Group Volunteer

Are you or your group interested in a one-time volunteer opportunity? Since much of our daily programming allows ample craft and play opportunities, we welcome your creativity in proposing a visit which will provide our patients with a unique and memorable activity.
