Adult Volunteer Applications

Those who are 18 and over not enrolled in college can apply to the following volunteer programs at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Arts & Crafts

This volunteer role leads arts and crafts activities in an outpatient setting.

Child Life

Volunteers in this role will provide support and comfort to patients and families through interactive play. This role will allow volunteers to interact with patients in playrooms and/or at the patient’s bedside.

Connelly Resource Center

Volunteers in the Connelly Resource Center promote learning and reading activities to support patients, parents, caretakers, siblings and other family members.

Galaxy 51 Television Network

Help patients to participate in CHOP’s television studio programs by assisting with show promotion, bedside call-ins, on-air show interaction and live studio audience coordination during celebrity guest visits.

Reach Out and Read

Reading volunteers

Offer to engage children of all ages with books and reading aloud in an outpatient waiting room at a primary care doctor's office. Volunteer readers also help restock shelves with books.

Clerical volunteers

Help sort, screen, pack, and lift boxes of children’s books in a storage room at CHOP Karabots Pediatric Care Center at 48th and Market Streets in West Philadelphia.

School Program

Volunteers in this role work with certified teachers throughout the hospital to deliver school services to patients at CHOP.
