Welcome to the Beginning of Your CHOP Career
Hello. I’m Steven Altschuler and I’d like to welcome you to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Today you’re beginning what I think will be an amazing and rewarding career at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. I’ve had the privilege to be here over 25 years in a number of capacities, as a fellow, attending physician, physician in chief and, for the last several years, president and CEO.
Over the past 150+ years we’ve had a profound impact on the lives of children. This is a place where discoveries occur every day and, more importantly, where those discoveries are utilized to truly make a difference. I think that’s why it is so special to work here. This is more than just a job. It is a career where you will have an opportunity to make a difference no matter where you are within our extensive network. Some of you will be working on the Main Campus, some of you will be working in our ambulatory sites, some of you will be working in research. Whether in a direct patient care position or a supporting role, the work you do really has a profound impact on the lives of children and their families.
Finally, I’d like to thank you for choosing the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as your place to work. The greatness of this institution depends on employees like you.
