New Employee Orientation

Compliance

It is CHOP’s policy to provide services and do business in compliance with all state and federal laws governing its operations, and in compliance with established standards of business and professional ethics. Compliance means that, as an organization and as individual employees, we follow the rules that govern the hospital and how it does business. These rules are for things such as how the hospital bills for the services it provides to patients, how we interact with patients and their families, how we conduct relationships with our suppliers, and how we must follow the legal requirements of the agencies that license the hospital.

The CHOP Compliance Program

Our compliance program is made up of:

The Children’s Hospital Compliance Line is the Hospital’s toll-free compliance hotline that employees can use to report possible compliance issues. When you call the hotline at 1-866-246-7456, you do not have to give your name or any other information that might identify you.

You also have the option of making an anonymous report of possible improper practices involving Pennsylvania Medicaid billing to the Pennsylvania Medicaid agency.  You can contact the Hotline at 1-866-DPW-TIPS Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. eastern time.

Instructions for all of these options are on the intranet site of the Hospital’s Office of Compliance and Privacy. It is important for you to know that it is the Hospital’s policy to not take any action against someone because he or she has reported a possible compliance issue.
