Please reach out to your HR Recruiter and/or your hiring manager regarding start times, locations, dress codes and additional training schedules for your second day at CHOP.
We have an electronic timekeeping system. If you are an hourly employee, swipe in no earlier than five minutes before your scheduled start time. Time clocks are located throughout the various locations on every floor. In addition, all employees need to show or swipe their badge to enter any CHOP building. If the building has a card reader, simply pass your badge over it, face down.
You can catch the CHOP shuttle from 30th Street Station (the JFK side of the building) to the Main Hospital, Wood Center, and 3535 Market St. during the peak rush hours in the morning (6:30-9:30 a.m.) and afternoon (3:10-6:10 p.m.). A CHOP ID is required.
The Joint Commission (the regulatory body that monitors our compliance to standards of care) requires that all employees complete training within the first 7 days of employment. This training is mandatory.
You will receive instructions about CHOP's internal learning management system, LearningLink, on your first day. After you have attended New Employee Orientation, you may access LearningLink internally, via the CHOP Employee intranet, or from your home computer.
To access LearningLink directly:
Your LearningLink user name and password is the same as your network/email/STAR user name login.
Please call the IS Support Desk at x44357 or 215-590-4357 for all technical issues.
The CHOP Employee Intranet and CHOP Research Institute intranet are accessible from any computer in the hospital network. You can use it to access LearningLink (Education and Training), Staff Directory (you can search by name or department, and you can page someone), CHOP News and Department sites.
For your reference, the Human Resources Policies and Procedures manual is available to all employees through the CHOP Intranet.
To access e-mail from home or away from the CHOP network, go to https://email.chop.edu
We have two different exchanges – 215-590-xxxx is used for clinical areas and numbers patients and families need to access, and 267-426-xxxx for all other areas. When dialing from an internal phone, use 4-xxxx when the exchange is 215-590-xxxx, use the extension 6-xxxx when the exchange is 267-426 and use the extension 5-xxxx when the exchange is 267-425-xxxx.
Please update the Staff Directory, available through the Employee Intranet, when you receive your e-mail address.
Add your extension, fax, and office location to the online staff directory (refer to job aid located in the front pocket of your New Employee Binder). Additionally, if you have a CHOP issued mobile device (cell phone, pager, ASCOM phone) it will be automatically uploaded to the Staff Directory.
