Neonatal Nursing

In your career as a nurse, you've come to realize the great responsibility, challenge and rewards being a nurse can present. Nowhere is this more true than in the Newborn Infant Center (NIC) at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Excellence in neonatal nursing is a way of life

The Newborn Infant Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia utilizes the latest technology to provide care to sick newborns and infants up to 6 months of age. Our nurses are part of an incredible team that includes top neonatologists and pediatric surgeons.

We are part of the hospital's Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment, and have one of the largest ECMO programs in the country. NIC nurses are active participants in cutting-edge research in neonatology, surgery and pediatric subspecialty care. Nitric oxide studies, new modes of ventilation and new drug therapies all take place here.

Family-centered care is at the core of our mission, and our staff receive frequent recognition from families for their skills in parent support, developmental care, pain management and complex discharge planning.

We seek compassionate, flexible candidates who thrive on the unique challenges provided by neonatal intensive care, while always keeping in mind the exceptional power of the human touch. Learn and apply advanced neonatal nursing skills as part of our team. And love every minute of it.

The NIC provides attractive scheduling options, supportive work teams and an individualized orientation program of up to 12 weeks. What's more, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia provides you with benefits that go beyond the workplace. You'll discover an incredible array of enrichment and educational opportunities.
