Center for Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases
At the Center for Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, we care for children with:
- Juvenile arthritis
- Juvenile ankylosing spondylitis
- Pain amplification syndromes
- Systemic lupus erythematosus
- Lyme disease
- Vasculitis, including Henoch-Schönlein purpura
We also consult on patients with undiagnosed multisystem diseases and those with fever of unknown origin.
During your child's consultation, we may offer intra-articular corticosteroid injections to treat arthritic joints. We can also arrange referrals for physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychiatry and pain management.
After your visit, you may wish to participate in our parent and adolescent support groups. Both are very active communities that provide ongoing support to children and their families.
Research and training
As a research and training Center, we conduct extensive research into the causes and cure of autoimmune disease, including lupus, Henoch-Schonlein purpura and juvenile arthritis. We also educate and train pediatric rheumatology fellows.
