Your Child's Diagnostic and Complex Care Appointment

Before your child's appointment

During your initial call to the Center, you will be asked a series of questions regarding your child’s condition: How long has she had his condition? What are her symptoms? Who is referring your child to our Center? Has your child been seen by any other specialist? A detailed intake will be completed and we will also need your child’s insurance information and the information of the insurance subscriber.

Before making an appointment with the Diagnostic and Complex Care Center, we ask that your child’s pediatrician write a brief but descriptive summary on why he/she is referring your child to the Patrick S. Pasquariello Jr. Diagnostic and Complex Care Center. It is also very helpful if you, the parents, are able to provide us with a detailed timeline of events that has occurred during your child’s condition. Additionally, we will ask for a copy of your child’s medical records to be faxed or mailed to us.

Once we receive this information, a physician will review the records. We generally schedule your child's first appointment within two to three weeks.

During your child's appointment

During your visit, we will discuss your child’s medical condition in depth and allow for adequate time to answer your questions. Our physicians may order testing as well as determine which other specialties should be involved in your child's care, and assist you in arranging these consultations. At times, your child may require hospital admission for inpatient care, the Diagnostic Center team will help you coordinate such admissions.
