Michelle Barr, MS, OTR/L, has been practicing with the pediatric population at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia since receiving her degree from Thomas Jefferson University. Ms. Barr specializes in internationally adopted children, children with sensory integrative problems, cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injuries and adaptive seating and positioning. Michelle has completed the Theraplay training course for teaching attachment based play techniques for post-institutionalized children. She has traveled to Vietnam, providing training in rehabilitation centers and orphanages throughout the region. Michelle continues to study the effects of institutionalization on children, and the impacts on motoric and cognitive development, sensory functioning, and social interaction skills.
