Background

Meghan Devine, BSN, RN, IBCLC, is a registered nurse and international board certified lactation consultant at CHOP. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Villanova University. After starting her career in Newborn Intensive Care at Yale Children’s Hospital, Devine moved on to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CHOP. After having her own children, Devine felt becoming a lactation consultant to be a natural progression of her bedside nursing career.

Devine has always had a special interest in promoting family-centered care in the pediatric setting. She provides lactation consults for families of patients admitted to the CHOP and helps families with breastfeeding challenges such as latching problems, sore nipples and low milk production.

Devine also supports staff education in lactation by chairing the Hospital Wide Breastfeeding Committee. Her background in nursing motivates her to provide education in evidence based lactation support in clinical care.
