Background

I am a nurse practitioner specializing in neuro-oncology. My role is to coordinate care for children with cancer and to provide clinical care and anticipatory guidance to patients and their caretakers. I especially enjoy empowering patients and families to always ask questions about the disease and treatment process. Over the last 16 years that I have worked in pediatric oncology, I have learned just how resilient children are and I am humbled by how each patient and family teaches me something.

I have authored posters and presentations that focus on the education of pediatric oncology staff with an overview of pediatric oncology and stem cell transplant. I have helped to develop guidelines for sperm banking in young males undergoing cancer therapy and presented on this topic at national conferences. My research interest is supportive care in pediatric cancer patients.
