Background

Ellen Tracy is currently a Vice President and Associate Chief Nursing Officer at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and a Board-Certified Nurse Executive. Ellen has over 35 years of professional nursing experience, primarily based at CHOP. She has been instrumental in re-defining the care model delivery throughout the hospital, improving the patient and family experience and leading the daily operations at CHOP.

Ellen leads several hospital wide initiatives, and champions change to improve interprofessional relationships, communication and optimal patient and family outcomes. Ellen has co-authored publications focused on flexible staffing, centralized staffing model, quality improvement, oncological care delivery and patient safety.  She has lectured extensively on mentoring, executive leadership and capacity management.

Most of Ellen’s career has focused on leadership and management in a large quaternary pediatric academic medical center, but her clinical passion is pediatric oncology. She earned both her Master’s and Bachelor’s in Nursing from Villanova University.
