Research Interests

Dr. Carlow’s research focuses on clinical assay development using a variety of analytical methods, including liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry, high performance liquid chromatography and inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry for trace metal analysis. Specific analytes of interest include immunosuppressive and antiepileptic drugs as well as steroid and vitamin analysis.

He is currently involved in several clinical research projects whose goals are to examine the role of vitamin D in a variety of disease states, including cardiovascular disease.
