Background

Ines C. Lin, MD, is an attending surgeon in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) with special expertise treating hand and upper extremity conditions. 

Dr. Lin received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and did her residency in plastic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She also completed a fellowship in hand surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she was awarded the Alice D. Jensen Fellowship in Hand Surgery Honoring Dr. Julian Bruner. Board-certified in plastic surgery and hand surgery, her clinical interests include hand and upper extremity surgery and reconstructive surgery.  She is an active member in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, where she is part of the Curriculum Development Subcommittee, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, where she recently participated in the Young Leaders Program. She has written on pediatric hand injuries as well as congenital hand conditions. 

She is also an attending surgeon in the Hand Transplantation Program. Combining the expertise of the Penn Transplant Institute and the Hospital’s Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Division of Orthopaedics, the Hand Transplantation program aims to help children who have undergone unilateral or bilateral amputation of arms or hands to regain function and independence. Hand transplantation, or vascularized composite allotransplantation, is a rare procedure performed by only a few surgical teams around the world.
