Background

Margarita Meehan, MD, is a pediatric neurologist with the Division of Neurology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She practices general pediatric neurology with dual certification in both child neurology and pediatrics.

Dr. Meehan’s interest in the brain and nervous system drew her to neurology. Working with children gives her great personal satisfaction.

“Physician-patient interaction is an art, in addition to a science,” she says.

Diagnosing neurological disorders and giving families much-needed answers is an important part of what Dr. Meehan does. “Neurology is a precise area of medicine and it requires a broad spectrum of medical knowledge,” she says.

It’s equally important to her that children and their families come away from their experiences at CHOP knowing the following: “We all care for you,” Dr. Meehan says.
