My clinical efforts primarily focus on pediatric patients with inherited or acquired forms of bone marrow failure. I work closely with other members of the Pediatric Comprehensive Bone Marrow Failure Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to provide the best possible care for children with these rare diseases. I help to provide and coordinate thorough multidisciplinary evaluations of a child with bone marrow failure, in addition to recommending necessary diagnostic evaluations and outlining treatment options. I seek to provide patients with compassionate and well-informed care.
In coordination with my clinical efforts, I am also researching whether there are ways to genetically identify patients with bone marrow failure who have proceeded to clonal evoluation in their bone marrow. I hope that this research will provide information on disease patho-biology and disease progression, while also aiding in the discovery of prognostic markers for these patients.
My long-term goals are to continue to build a cutting edge comprehensive clinical program for bone marrow failure patients here at CHOP, while also studying and applying the translation of new insights gained at the bench into their clinical care and management.
