Education is one of the three pillars of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's mission. As such, we take our responsibility to serve the learning needs of both future and practicing healthcare professionals very seriously.

We were the first hospital in the nation to initiate formal training in pediatrics, and our residency program today is considered a model worldwide. It is the depth and rigor of fellowship training in our medical and surgical subspecialties, as well as the opportunity to learn from the best, that attracts talented physicians and other professionals from programs in every corner of the globe. Many go on to enrich the pediatric profession with their own distinguished contributions.

To help fulfill the educational needs of practicing professionals, Children's Hospital sponsors nearly 25 continuing education programs each year, as well as weekly grand rounds open to all and talks tailored to the specific needs of practice groups.
