Patients are admitted to Children's Hospital through
ambulatory services, the Emergency Department or by direct referral. Parents
are requested to bring insurance identification cards, as well as the
name and address of their child's pediatrician, with them at the time
of admission.
Should a family need assistance, the credit supervisor
will be glad to help make arrangements for paying the bill.
Members of Children's Hospital's professional
staff may admit patients to their service through Admissions.
Professional
staff not admitting to their services and non-member physicians who wish
to admit a child to Children's Hospital for special diagnosis or treatment
are invited to call the Physician Referral Service or the specialty division
directly. Physicians may also contact any member of the medical staff
for a referral or consultation. For emergency treatment, the child may
be sent to the Emergency Department.
Referrals are also welcomed from school health
services, health supervision agencies and public health agencies.
Patients and their families may also contact one
of the specialized services or clinics through the secretary of the service
or clinic, or by calling the Physician Referral Service.
