Abington Memorial Hospital
Inpatient pediatricians provide round-the-clock inpatient medical care for children in our 21-bed facility as well as consultation to the emergency department. There are two Pediatric Special Care Unit beds available for acutely ill children in need of more close monitoring. Our nursing staff is specialty trained in pediatrics to provide quality care for ill children.
CHOP Pediatric Care at Abington Memorial Hospital is a joint service of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Abington Memorial Hospital.
Pediatricians and family physicians in the community may refer children to our inpatient pediatricians for evaluation and care when hospitalization is needed. Primary care providers are kept up to date with patients' progress by telephone and timely discharge summaries.
Subspecialty pediatricians from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia are available for outpatient consultations at Abington Memorial Hospital. The subspecialties represented include pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric pulmonology and weight management.
