Winter Car Seat Safety

For car travel, don't dress your infant in bulky outerwear; it can interfere with the tightness of the car seat harness. Cover her with a blanket instead.

Welcome

The Primary Care practice (formerly Kids First) in Coatesville, Pennsylvania is dedicated to providing pediatric care of the highest quality delivered with compassion, respect and appreciation for children and their families. Our clinical providers value relationships with our patients and families.

Part of the CHOP Care Network, our practice provides comprehensive primary care from birth through young adulthood. We accept most insurance plans, and our doctors have staff privileges at area hospitals, in addition to CHOP.

Our new scheduling process

Effective June 1, 2011 CHOP Care Network – Coatesville will be making a change for our patients and their families in how they will receive care in our office. In the past the patients in our practice have not been specifically assigned to one provider; the patients have been shared among all of the doctors and nurse practitioner. We are now planning to designate one primary care provider (PCP) for each patient. Every patient will have a primary care provider (PCP) who will see your child for well visits and sick appointments whenever possible.

As of June 1, 2011 you will be able to know when you make an appointment which provider will be seeing your child at that scheduled visit. Until this time we have been scheduling patient appointments on a “time basis” – asking that your child would be seen by the next available clinician once taken to the exam room. There will be times when your child’s PCP may not be available to see them for an acute problem. For those particular times any one of our providers would be able to care for your child, which has been our process here for many years.

One of the main advantages of this change in process will be the continuity of care. The family and PCP will get to know each other, improving our communication and rapport. Your child’s PCP will be the one health care provider who will act as a first point of consultation for all of your child’s needs.

You may change your child’s PCP at any time; simply let the Patient Service Representative at the front desk know who you would like as the PCP for your child and they will update your child’s medical record. Siblings do not need to all have the same PCP.

We look forward to this transition that will allow us to better coordinate the care of our CHOP Care Network – Coatesville patients, and as always, we look forward to partnering with you to help your kids stay their healthiest!
