The Children's Intensive Emotional and Behavioral Program (CIEBP) provides comprehensive partial hospital services in a behaviorally based therapeutic setting for children between the ages of 5 and 12.The Program serves children with significant behavioral, emotional and social needs from throughout the South Jersey region, including Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Ocean Counties. Children attend the program for 6 hours per day, 5 days per week.
The overall mission of the program is to improve child and family functioning so that a child, who is at risk of being removed from the community, psychiatric hospitalization, or being excluded from school because of psychiatric/behavioral symptoms, can remain and be productive in his or her home, school and community.
Our approach to treatment emphasizes a treatment team model that encourages family and community participation. Treatment focuses on the learning of emotional self-regulation, adaptive behaviors and pro-social skills.
Family members and school staff are considered equal partners on the treatment team as we strive to extend what the child has learned in the program to the home and school environments. Therapeutic interventions stress safety and positive regard and are derived from state of the art behavior modification techniques and applied behavior analysis. They are further supported by individual, group and family therapy modalities, educational instruction, and psychopharmacology.
