Kohl’s Department Stores Donate $530,620 to CHOP

check presentation The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) received a $530,620.00 donation from Kohl's, through its Kohl’s Cares program, to support the hospital’s injury prevention programs. The donation was presented to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia officials today at the Philadelphia Zoo. Since 2000, Kohl’s has donated more than $7.28 million to CHOP.

Kohl's support to expand CHOP injury prevention efforts in the Philadelphia community

“Thanks to Kohl’s long standing support of children’s health, our injury prevention efforts continue to reach more children each year in the Philadelphia community,” said Marla Vanore, RN, BSN, MHA, director of Trauma and Injury Prevention Programs at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. “Along with the donations that allow us to help children stay safe, Kohl’s associates also volunteer on a regular basis to make many of our community outreach events even more successful.”

This year's Kohl’s grant will support :

  • CHOP’s car seat distribution program
  • Mobile Safety Center
  • Car seat safety checks
  • Advertising programs and educational materials brought to the Philadelphia region
  • Injury prevention programs with community partners

Injuries are the leading cause of death and disability to children in the United States. The Kohl's Injury Prevention Program at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is dedicated to preventing injuries in children. Through Kohl’s generous support, the Injury Prevention Program is able to offer expert online information and resources, local safety events in the greater Philadelphia area and community car seat inspection stations. In addition, our health educators provide free injury prevention information.

Kohl's Cares® benefits children in a variety of ways

Kohl's commitment to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is made possible through the Kohl's Cares® cause merchandise program. Through this initiative, Kohl’s sells $5 books and plush toys where 100 percent of net profit benefits children’s health and education programs nationwide, including hospital partnerships like this one.
