Night Eating Disorder Requires More Research

Night eating syndrome, a rare disorder often characterized by increased appetite at night or waking up to eat, may signal other mental health issues, according to a new study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health. Senior study author Dr. Rebecka Peebles, an adolescent medicine physician at CHOP, says more research is needed because night eating is also associated with other eating disorder behaviors that could lead to serious physical and psychological consequences.
