The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has announced that Peter M. Grollman has been named Vice President, Government Affairs, Community Relations & Advocacy. In his position, he will develop and implement an annual legislative agenda for the CHOP community, serve as a liaison with public officials and monitor governmental matters impacting CHOP operations in PA and NJ. Mr. Grollman also directs the CHOP’s community relations activities, aiding in the creation and maintenance of partnerships supporting public health goals and advocacy in communities served by CHOP.
“Our industry continues to undergo dramatic change; some as a result of the new health care legislation and proposed cuts to government-supported programs. As the largest pediatric healthcare network in the nation, CHOP must work effectively with federal, state and local policymakers to create a sustainable model for pediatric health care. Peter’s expertise will be invaluable in navigating the changes to come,” said Steven M. Altschuler, MD, chief executive officer.
Mr. Grollman was hired as Director, Government Affairs, Community Relations & Advocacy in 2007. Prior to joining CHOP, Peter served as an aide in the U.S. Senate before joining a Washington, DC based public affairs firm specializing in healthcare advocacy.
Mr. Grollman received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The Pennsylvania State University and Master’s degree in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
He lives in Wynnewood, Pa. with his wife and two children.
