Triage

  1. Visual assessment of pain severity
  2. Focal pain? Peritoneal?
  3. VS
  4. Medications
  5. Allergies
  6. Exposure to chickenpox

In- room

  1. Review triage vital signs and information
  2. Visual assessment of pain severity, hydration status
  3. Determine:
    • Time of onset, location and duration of pain
    • Associated symptoms of fever, vomiting, diarrhea
    • Last menstrual period
  4. Contact MD (if not present) for initial evaluation and treatment
