ED Clinical Pathway for Evaluation/Treatment of Children with Anaphylaxis

Triage Criteria: Anaphylaxis and Allergic Reactions

1 Critical 2 Acute 3 Urgent 4 Urgent 5 Non-Urgent
  • Exposure to known allergen

    • Hoarseness, stridor, or

    • Swollen lips, tongue, uvula with respiratory compromise, GI symptoms, tachycardia or hypotension

  • Vomiting/crampy abdominal pain
  • Wheezing
  • Facial/neck edema with exposure to known allergen
  • ¬†Localized edema
  • Generalized urticaria without other symptoms
