  • Risk for further ingestions
  • i.e. Age, psych hx
  • Ability to follow up

Consider endoscopic removal
Await passage of magnet
X-ray follow-up 2-3 days
MAGNET PRECAUTIONS
  • Remove all metallic, magnetic objects from patient's environment
  • Assure no magnets, metal on patient's clothing (buckles, snaps, buttons)
  • Assure no magnets available for ingestion
  • Continue until magnet is passed
