Imaging, Prophylaxis and Referral Recommendations

ALL patients should have a renal bladder US (RBUS) after their first febrile UTI.

Normal RBUS

Prophylaxis

Note: If UTI is caused by an organism resistant to Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole may still be used for prophylaxis. The existing organism is eradicated by treatment.
