About the Pediatrics Residency Program

The Pediatrics Residency Program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a three-year program, accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education, leading to certification in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

The central idea of the Pediatrics Residency Program at CHOP is one of cultivation. We believe that a physician becomes a well-trained pediatrician gradually.

Supervision and support from our large faculty lets the resident take on responsibility in stages, and grow into the leadership role that culminates their training during their third year.
