Curriculum

The Administrative Fellowship Program offers the flexibility to accommodate an individual’s interests with a framework of continuous learning. Each administrative fellow is exposed to a broad range of learning opportunities in the administrative disciplines.

The program consists of six to eight core rotations in areas such as patient care services, finance, human resources, hospital and ambulatory care operations, systems and procedures, research, hospital operations, clinical operations and general administration.

During each rotation responsibilities include:

During each rotation, the fellow participates in fundamental projects that support the hospital’s strategic Operating Plan, ongoing department initiatives and assist the fellow in developing core competencies. The responsibilities and assignments are primarily project oriented.

The rotations are jointly developed by administrative preceptors, senior vice presidents and the administrative fellow. The mentoring relationship with administrative staff members will include performance assessments that focus on characteristics of a successful administrator, such as managerial skills, judgment, initiative, credibility, creativity and leadership.
