Pediatric Residency Program

Global Health Opportunities for Residents

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia engages in a large variety of global health activities coordinated through the Global Health Center. Pediatric trainees at CHOP, including pediatric residents, are encouraged to explore a wide variety of global health activities during their residency years at CHOP.

All CHOP pediatric residents have educational opportunities to learn more about the field of global health through curriculum offerings at CHOP including grand rounds, quarterly Global Health Center lectures, noon conferences, and the annual Global Health conference. Residents can connect with global health experts from a variety of disciplines and will have ample opportunities for learning.

Residents seeking a deeper exposure to global health can complete one of several rotations that are directed towards global health. These include:

CHOP is the home to one of the premier pediatric global health fellowships in the country. The David N. Pincus Global Health Fellowship recruits early career pediatricians for a two-year fellowship that provides an academic training program, delivery of clinical care, and scholarly activities at one of our partner sites in the Dominican Republic or in Botswana/South Africa.

Residency applicants are encouraged to express their interest in Global Health during the recruitment process.
