The divisions of the Department of Pediatrics offer subspecialty education to residents and serve as role models for a broad range of pediatric subspecialty careers. Residents provide care to patients from multiple subspecialties on inpatient teams. Cardiology, Oncology, Gastroenterology and Endocrinology all have specialty specific teams and rotations. Most other subspecialty patients are cared for by resident teams that have a mix of subspecialty and general pediatrics patients under the supervision of attendings from both divisions. Residents also are exposed to subspecialty care in outpatient clinics in a variety of settings.
