Psychology Fellowship Application Process
Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an American Psychological Association (APA)-approved clinical, counseling or school psychology program prior to starting the postdoctoral fellowship program at Children's Hospital. In addition, applicants are required to have completed an APPIC member or APA-approved internship in child-clinical, pediatric or counseling psychology. Applicants must have defended their dissertation prior to the start of the fellowship.

Please see the neuropsychology application process below for information on applying to the pediatric neuropsychology position. All other applicants, please submit:
- A one- to two-page cover letter describing previous professional academic preparation and work experience relevant to a postdoctoral fellowship in psychology, career interests and specific plans, and reasons for applying to the Fellowship Program. Please specify to which fellowship positions you are applying.
- A curriculum vitae
- Three letters of recommendations from academic or work supervisors
- Reprints or preprints of book chapters or journal articles (please do not send a copy of your dissertation or thesis)
- An official transcript from your doctoral training program
One application packet is sufficient to apply for all available fellowship positions. Electronic versions of the application are required. Applicants should specify the fellowship position(s) to which they are applying in their cover letter. Some of our fellowship positions may have additional application requirements that are detailed in the descriptions of the positions listed under Specific Fellowship Descriptions. For example, the Neuropsychology position requires participation in the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN) Resident Match Program.
Application deadline
We participate in the APPIC Uniform Notification Day (UND), but will accept applications until all available positions are filled. Note: For the 2012- 2013 academic years, priority will be given to applications received by Monday, January 30, 2012. Please send electronic materials via e-mail to psychologytraining@email.chop.edu. Fellow selection
All complete applications received will be reviewed. Selected applicants will be invited for an onsite interview. Fellows will be notified of acceptance by telephone and subsequently by letter from Human Resources. Written confirmation from the fellow indicating acceptance of the position is required and binding. Applicants will be notified by e-mail when the position(s) for which they applied becomes filled or otherwise unavailable. As an APPIC-listed fellowshp program, we participate in APPIC's post-doctoral fellowship Uniform Notification Day set as March 14, 2012 for the current academic year.
Neuropsychology application process
The application deadline for the Postdoctoral Residency in Pediatric Neuropsychology is January 13, 2012. Application should include:
- Letter of interest
- Curriculum vitae
- Graduate transcript
- Copies of two test reports
- Three letters of recommendation
- APPCN Doctoral Training Verification Form

Interviews will be arranged after initial screening of applications. Interviews will take place at the annual meeting of the International Neuropsychological Society. Most interviews will be scheduled for Tuesday Feb. 14, 2012 at INS.
The residency program participates in the APPCN match program conducted by National Matching Services, Inc. All applicants to APPCN programs should register for the match; information about registration can be found at the APPCN website. The application fee is $125.
