Please join us in this seminar centered around the art of building life books and journaling. You may have a lifebook for your child you want to add to, and your child can have an opportunity to build their own life book.
Learn about the value of journaling to process difficult life situations and to record the expected and unexpected joys shared in a family.
This session will also include discussions about talking to others who ask questions about our children’s adoptions, strategies for responding, and teaching your children how to respond to the not always so polite probing questions of others in the community.
You only need to order ONE ticket for your entire family to attend a session. If you have adopted children in more than one age group, please email CHOPAdopt@email.chop.edu so we can help you decide which group session is the best fit for your family. We welcome families who are both pre-adoption and post-adoption. Just choose the ticket type that is right for you. Please note: the number of pre-adoption women who can attend Mom's Club is unlimited!
10:30 am - 12:30 pm: Under 5
Morning events are geared towards families who have children under 5, and sibling groups. We know that parenting toddlers and pre-schoolers who have been adopted presents special challenges balanced with great joy! Groups will be lead by a social worker, and serve as a place for parents to discuss challenges, talk through solutions, and engage in activities with their children to promote attachment and manage challenging behaviors.
1 - 2:30 pm: Mom's Club
You are not alone! Come meet and talk with other moms with a social worker moderating discussions and offering resources and support. Activities for children are available. Space limited for number of children.
3 - 6 pm: Family Education Event (Ages 5 – teens)
6 - 7 pm: Please join us for Pizza and Soda Social!
