Appointments With the Center of Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome

Initial evaluation and assessment

To schedule an evaluation with the Center of Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome, please call our program coordinator at 215-590-7234.

Before your child's visit:

  1. You will receive an initial evaluation packet. Please complete and return it to our Center for review by our clinical team. After our team reviews your child’s initial paperwork, we will call you to set up an appointment.
  2. You will then receive a comprehensive evaluation packet in the mail. Please complete all forms included in the packet and return them to our Center two weeks prior to your scheduled appointment. These forms are an important part of your child’s evaluation and treatment.

During your child's visit:

AMPS intensive treatment program waiting period

Due to the time-intensive and individual nature of treatment and the space needed to complete these physical activities, there is a waiting period for admission to our program.

In our intensive treatment program, each child is treated individually and stays as long as is clinically appropriate. Therefore, we cannot predict when slots will open up or how long your child will have to wait before treatment begins.

While we understand the wait time is very frustrating and difficult, we try to treat each child fully and fairly, and cannot accommodate children into our program any faster than we have treatment slots available.

We encourage all children and families to follow recommendations provided during clinic visits to help prepare for treatment, while waiting to start the intensive program. Beginning psychological counseling during the waiting period can also help enhance your child’s coping ability and help address areas of stress that may facilitate your child’s treatment once he or she is admitted into the intensive program.
