What is being done to find out more about AMPS?

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is one of the very few places doing research on children with AMPS. You and your child may be asked to take part in a research project.

Before you agree to participate in any research project, it will be fully explained to you and your child. Participation is completely voluntary. The care and treatment of your child are not affected in any way by participating or not participating in any study at CHOP.

Current research studies are being conducted at CHOP to learn more about:

Outcome measures of children and adolescents in pain
Impact of non-weight bearing during standardized exercises in patients attending our AMPS Hospital treatment program
Possible genetic link for AMPS
Body perception in patients with AMPS
Incidence of conversion symptoms in patients with AMPS
Abdominal pain as a primary manifestation of AMPS
