Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine

How to Apply

Requirements for the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program

Starting with the match for positions to begin in July 2010, all applications for standard three year fellowships will be through ERAS, the online application service of the AAMC (http://www.aamc.org/students/eras/about/start.htm). ERAS will open for pediatric critical care applications on July 1, 2009 at which time you will be able to begin uploading materials. Please do not send all the application materials to us directly, although if you wish us to start a file with your information, it is fine to mail or email a CV to Ms. Honesty. This can be helpful if you may be calling with questions before the ERAS materials are downloadable.

Combined Fellowship Applications:

If you are applying for the combined fellowship in anesthesia/pediatric anesthesia/pediatric critical care, the application is not through ERAS. Instead, we require the following materials be sent to us directly:

1. Completion ofresidency training in a program approved by the American Board of Pediatrics oreligibility for Board certification in Pediatrics
2. Application form (including ECFMG certificate number and visa information, if a foreign medical graduate)
3. Three letters of recommendation
4. C.V. and Personal Statement
5. Dean's Letter and Medical School Transcript
6. Documentation of passing scores on USMLE Part I, II and III
7. The application is due by October of the year prior to desired start date at the latest, although interviews for fellowship positions begin in the summer and time slots for available interviews may be filled by the late summer or fall.

Application Form for Combined Fellowships:

You may apply online by downloading a PDF version of the application. Fill out the appropriate fields, then print and mail the application.

For other combined fellowships, please call to see whether the application should go through ERAS or not. Applicants for combined programs may not necessarily go through the NRMP matching procedure, so the timing of applications/interviews/acceptances may be shifted and spots may be filled on a rolling basis. Early inquiries are therefore encouraged.

You may also contact us for a paper application or with any questions you may have.
