CHOP’s Assessment and Treatment Implementation Program for Infants and Toddlers with Hearing Loss–Enhancing Rehabilitation (CATIPIHLER) provides ongoing, comprehensive, coordinated assessment and intervention services to young children with hearing loss and their families. The team includes audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and mental health professionals.
CATIPIHLER was designed to support children from the time a hearing loss is identified through entry to school, evaluate the progress of communication skills and assist with the transition into the school system.
The program also helps families identify and access services both inside and outside the Hospital, including services for optimal communication development.
Our speech-language pathologists help children with hearing loss develop speech, language and auditory skills.
These services are not meant to replace your child’s Early Intervention services but rather to work in collaboration with your service provider. Early Intervention service providers are welcome to attend these sessions.
