Literocity: Building Literacy for Young Children with Hearing Loss

Capitalizing on lessons learned from Professional Preparation in Cochlear Implants (PPCI), Literocity is a dynamic new course of study intended for listening and spoken language professionals interested in learning more about the development of reading in young children (ages 2-6) with hearing loss. Using a design that calls for prerequisite study, high energy onsite activities, direct work with children and virtual follow-up visits, Literocity represents a new generation of professional learning.

As with all PPCI sessions, opportunity for live observation and real, hands-on interaction with a young learner (under the direction of an instructional coach) is provided to all attendees. At the end of this comprehensive activity, participant will be able to:
