At diabetes camp, diabetes is carefully tucked away and managed by a competent team of counselors and medical staff. Kids and teens can then focus on playing and running and participating in exciting outdoor activities all in the safe context of a woodsy camp environment. If you love outdoor activities and are a camp kind of kid, a diabetes camp may be a great thing for you. Diabetes camp is a way for you to meet and live with a lot of kids with diabetes.

Diabetes summer camps

Listed below are some camps that are around the Philadelphia area, in NJ and Boston. All of the camps have scholarship resources available for families. Please contact each camp to ask about these opportunities.

Camp information is updated for the summer 2012 camp season, but visit the websites regularly since camp organizations often run family programs throughout the year.

Camp Freedom

Try a new adventure, like climbing the rock wall, with your camp friends!
For a close-to-home adventure, Camp Freedom (formerly known as "ADA Donovan McNabb Diabetes Camp for Kids at Camp Green Lane") will be in a new camp facility this summer, Camp Kweebec, in nearby Schwenksville, PA. Camp Setebaid

Setebaid Services runs several camps in Central Pennsylvania each summer. The various camps are set up by age group and take place at different locations. Barton Center for Diabetes Education

The Barton Center for Diabetes Education offers summer camping experiences in Massachusetts at Camp Clara Barton and Camp Joslin along with other educational opportunities for families throughout the year.
