The Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment has opened the world's first birth facility exclusively for mothers carrying babies with known birth defects.
Mothers receiving care at the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment can now deliver their babies in the high-amenity Garbose Family Special Delivery Unit, tended to by our highly specialized staff of obstetricians, fetal surgeons, neonatologists, cardiologists, nurse practitioners, OB nurses, genetic counselors and social workers.
The new Special Delivery Unit is housed within Children's Hospital, near operating rooms, the Newborn/Infant Center, and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, where staff can meet the immediate needs of infants after birth.
The Special Delivery Unit completes the circle of care for expectant mothers carrying babies with known birth defects. From initial consultation at The Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment through diagnosis, prenatal monitoring, fetal treatment, delivery and beyond, we meet every need of mother and baby in one location.
Physicians who refer expectant mothers to the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment are never far from information about your care. Center staff provide phone updates, correspondence for your record and, in some cases, online access to your reports while you are in the hospital. We are dedicated to coordinated care and communications to provide the very best outcomes.
