Family Accommodations

There are many options so families traveling to the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment at CHOP for evaluation, fetal surgery and/or after a baby is born can stay close by. Our staff are happy to help families visiting from out of town to make any necessary arrangements and accommodations.

The Ronald McDonald House in Camden, NJ

The Ronald McDonald House — just over the river in New Jersey — has rooms available for mothers before their delivery. The cost per room is $15 per night, based on ability to pay. Daily dinner and transportation to and from CHOP are provided to guests at no charge. To secure a reservation at the Ronald McDonald House, please obtain a referral from a member of the treatment staff at the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. Website: www.ronaldhouse-snj.org/

Many local hotels

There are many hotels within close proximity to Children's Hospital that work with the Hospital to offer families discounted accommodations. Our staff are happy to help families traveling to CHOP make these arrangements.

The Garbose Family Special Delivery Unit (SDU)

The Lynne L. and William M. Garbose Family Special Delivery Unit is designed to give families the option of staying together as much as possible during labor, birth and the postpartum period. All patient rooms in the SDU have a convertible couch to allow one person to stay overnight in the room with the patient.

The Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit (N/IICU)

The N/IICU has some overnight sleep rooms for parents, including showers. These rooms are assigned daily. Sleeping hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. To request a room, families sign up in the family lounge. There are also sleep chairs in the unit. One parent may use the sleep chair overnight, if their baby’s condition permits.

The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)

The CICU also has several sleep rooms on the sixth floor of the Hospital, which are assigned daily. The 16 single-patient rooms in the CICU also have sleep space to accommodate one parent.

The Connelly Resource Center for Families

The Connelly Center has sleep rooms, available at no cost to families on a one-night-at-a-time basis. These rooms are assigned by a family resource coordinator by mid-afternoon each day and are available from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The Connelly Center is located on the eighth floor of the Main Building.

The Ronald McDonald House at 3925 Chestnut St. in Philadelphia

The Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia has more than 40 rooms for families after delivery. The cost per room is $15 per night, based on ability to pay. Daily dinners and transportation to and from CHOP are provided for guests at no charge. To secure a reservation at the Ronald McDonald House, please obtain a referral from a member of the treatment staff at the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. Website: www.philarmh.org/
