The Division of Hematology at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia provides inpatient and outpatient services for children and adolescents with all hematologic disorders other than malignancies. Patients are cared for by a multidisciplinary team in a setting designed exclusively for children and their families. Referring physicians are kept informed in detail about the child's diagnosis and treatment and remain the primary physician.
Outpatients are seen in three locations locations: the Richard D. Wood Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center on the Main Campus and the Specialty Care Centers in King of Prussia, PA and Voorhees, NJ. Clinical hematology laboratories are located in the clinic areas in all locations.
Inpatients are admitted to Children's Hospital and are seen daily by the attending hematologist and a hematology fellow. Hematologists will arrange for consultations with physicians in other subspecialties as needed. Families have access to social work and other family-centered services in the Division of Hematology and at the Hospital.
