Injuries are the leading cause of death and disability to children in the United States. The Kohl's Injury Prevention Program at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is dedicated to preventing injuries in children. Our multi-faceted program educates families about safety and offers safety devices to increase safety practices in the community. Highlights of our program include:
A convenient place to purchase child safety products such as child safety seats, bicycle helmets, smoke alarms, baby gates and home safety products at low prices while receiving free injury prevention information from a health educator. This is the only store dedicated to child safety in Philadelphia.
First of its kind in the region, this van takes our safety center out on the road. Our fully-equipped van contains child safety products to distribute in the community. It is staffed by our health educator, who provides free safety information and training.
During car seat checks, child passenger safety technicians teach families how to correctly transport their children and help make sure everyone in a vehicle is buckled up on every ride. These events are open to the public, free of charge and are conducted in central Southeastern Pennsylvania locations, such as General Motor dealerships, hospitals and fire houses.
The Kohl's Injury Prevention Program is available to provide safety training and support for community events.
