Kohl's Mobile Safety Center
The first of its kind in the region, the Kohl's Mobile Safety Center takes our Safety Center on the road, making affordable safety products available in the community.
Our van sells child safety products similar to those available in the Safety Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. In addition, our health educators teach families about the importance of child safety and the proper use of the products we carry. All of our items are sold at cost.
What safety products does the van carry?
A sampling of the items the van stocks:
- Bike helmets
- All types of car seats, from infant to booster seats
- Carbon monoxide alarms
- Smoke alarms
- Fire extinguishers
- Home safety and childproofing devices
Kohl's Mobile Safety Center Tour
Come along on a tour of our safety van to learn about the safety products we offer.In order to serve families of children with special needs, the van carries selected items including:
- Window and door alarms
- ID bracelets and sneaker tags
- Specially designed vocal fire alarms that awaken a child with a recorded message
Where does the van go?
The Kohl's Mobile Safety Center travels throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area and southern New Jersey, attending community events and visiting CHOP Specialty Care Centers and Kohl’s stores. Please check the schedule of upcoming events to find out where the van will be next.
How to schedule a visit?
If you are interested in having the van come to an event hosted by your organization, please submit your request two months in advance or as soon as you have a date established. For most events, the van stays at least three hours.
