Prior to coming to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Said previously worked at the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians. There he developed a distinguished record as an interpreter and translator for French and Arabic-speaking communities, a mentor for the Project Bridging Cultures program at South Philadelphia High School, a social worker for the Vocational literacy program, and an instructor for the Welcoming Center West small business program.
Said has also worked with the Nationalities Services Center as an interpreter for many agencies; including the PCA, United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS), Family Support Services, Child Link and Career Team. As a certified English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, he taught English to high school students in Morocco and later taught Arabic and French at the Berlitz language schools in Philadelphia.
Said is excited to be living in Philadelphia and is an avid 76ers and Phillies fan.
