Dr. Winona Chua is an experienced pediatric hospitalist at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She has cared for a wide variety of patients, and her interests lie in taking care of children with chronic illness. She is one of a few pediatricians at CHOP that work in the Integrated Care Service, dedicated to the management of medically complex infants and children. Dr. Chua also is a clinical assistant professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
As a medical director for International Patient Services, Dr. Winona Chua provides medical expertise and guidance in the care coordination and medical management of international patients. With her extensive background as a hospitalist physician, Dr. Chua supports continuity throughout an international patient’s care plan by coordinating inpatient services, managing complex communication among specialists and providing medical expertise for children with complex conditions. She is also involved in the discharge planning of patients to ensure all medical issues are managed appropriately with the best possible resources.
Dr. Chua obtained her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at the University of the Philippines. She completed her residency at Brown University and her fellowship training in ambulatory pediatrics at Harvard University Children’s Hospital Boston. Dr. Chua is board certified in pediatrics and in neurodevelopmental pediatrics.
