Dr. Haecker has been a practicing pediatrician for over 20 years with an expertise in the follow-up care of high risk premature infants. Her esteemed career at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) includes the roles of medical director for Quality Improvement and departmental patient safety officer for the Ambulatory Care Network as well as the medical director of the Reach Out and Read program. Dr Haecker also is a clinical associate professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
As a medical director for International Patient Services, Dr. Haecker oversees the medical case management and coordination of services for CHOP’s international patients. Dr. Haecker supports the clinical integration of international patients into all service lines at CHOP, acting as an internal medical expert and liaison. She also supports the growth of our referring physician relationships and helps to address continuity of care as patients prepare to return to their home country.
Dr. Haecker’s passion for international health is demonstrated by her long-standing support of the CHOP’s International Medicine and Global Health programs. She has served as a physician consultant in numerous countries such as the Dominican Republic, the United Arab Emirates and Chile in support of CHOP’s international programs.
Dr. Haecker obtained her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her residency and chief residency at the University of Maryland.
